poloticing

photographed a polotical thing today. it was interesting the way the politico's totally ignored me. i might as well have been a member of the catering staff (no offence to my friends who cater.) thought this photo was funny and strange.

been spending way too much time doing wedding stuff. not my favorite but it sure does pay the bills. getting excited about my upcoming trip to montana. will share lots of photos when the time comes.

rrrggg. scott's new house has a mocking bird that meows living just in the back yard. wouldn't be such a bad thing but it's favorite hours of opperation are 2am - 5am. i haven't had a restful nights sleep in days.

Linda Pimentell

Linda had my phone before me. She got a call today. When I first got my phone she would frequently get calls from confused sounding old ladies. Strange to think about someone else having my phone number. Even stranger to think about who has lived in my house before me or dated my boyfriend before we met.

Fathers Day

Don't forget to tell your dad you love him. Someday he might not be around.

More Weddings

This photos is from a wedding last week. My life seems like a blur of weddings. This is the only weekend this month that I'm not photographing a wedding. The work gets much easier with each wedding I photograph.

I was suprised last week by a conversation I had with a videographer. I took a look at his website and had some questions about his wedding sample footage... it looked like it must have been shot somewhere outside of town. turns out he didn't even shoot the sample footage he is borrowing it from a friend. my samples might not be perfect but they are all MINE.

second day

of waiting for my oven to arrive. its paid for - but they rescheduled my delivery and now they are 2 hours late, again. i tried calling but got no answer.

i've been in a wedding fog for the last few days. some folks i did a wedding for weeks ago wanted me to renumber the photos so they were all in order. oh what a task!!! my weddings now are in order, but in the olden days they were not. i spent 8 hours fixing the numbers. my computer crashed at least a dozen times (amazing because usually i can't get my computer to crash) rrrg. anyways. i'm way to nice and i fixed the problem. (arguable if it was really a problem.)

now i'm designing an album. so much fun.

r made fun of me last night because i didn't know it was the stones on the radio. i was a beetles fan. what can i say?

Data Manigment

Such a headache. I have a terabyte of info that must be reorganized. I was using two external harddrives and moving data from one to the other as I completed jobs. I filled both 250 gig hard drives so I had to bread down and buy a new one. I'm not reorganizing all of my data and it has taken me the better part of a day. the good news is scott and i might go watch mitgit wresteling on friday

Oven

Rrrrg. My oven has been broken for the last four months. Initially when it broke I made a new custom handle for it but the fix only lasted for a little while. So I tried ordering the missing part and it is impossible to find. I hired a fellow to come by and fix it for me. He said he'd order the parts and then a month went by. When I called him today he said he wasn't able to order the parts because they no longer make them. THANKS FOR LETTING ME KNOW!!!

So I thought I'd just get a new oven. Sadly my entire kitchen's formyka is done in the color of the oven, Almond, and that color is no longer made. AHHH!!!!! So I spent the day calling used appliance shops looking for like new, or in any shape, almond colored gas ranges.

I only found one in town and I'm not even sure it is the correct almond color. Not to mention by the time it is delivered and installed I'll be paying as much for this used oven as I would just buying a white one from Sears. Oh what to do.

A raise

If Chornicle ever asks me to shoot again I got a raise see attached email...

my dearest freelance photographers,

from today forward, our pay rates for freelance photography have changed:
you will now get $25 per shot and we are taking your cameras. just kidding.

for real:

if you are sent on a location shoot you will be paid $75 per shot for the first shot and the second shot we run, and $55 for every shot after that.

if we run a stock image, you will be paid $55.

to put it a different way,
if you are sent on assignment:
shot 1 = $75
shot 2 = $75
shots 3-infinity = $55 per

stock = $55 per

the impetus for this is to make these one- and two-shot assignments more appealing and more profitable for you, the photographer.

look for another email on this subject in the year 2016.

love,
the chronicle
